Wild Care - Teaching Kits

Nature Kits are available for use in the classroom under supervision.
The Kits contain:

bird print bullet points A taxidermy animal in a life-like pose.
bird print bullet points An information booklet with the animal's natural history, information on taxidermy, an inventory of the kit and suggested activities.
bird print bullet points A "How to Handle a Taxidermy Animal" page.
bird print bullet points "Wild Animals Aren't Pets" reading pages.
bird print bullet points The Humane Society of the United States' Guide for Educators.
bird print bullet points A teacher's guide.

Kits may also contain:

bird print bullet points A facsimile ceramic bird egg.
bird print bullet points A Native American reading page (various reading levels).
bird print bullet points A "Story from the Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital" about that species.
bird print bullet points Other reading pages at various reading levels.

Fee

$25.00 per kit (for two weeks)

Coupon Books

For schools that plan to make Classroom Nature Kits a regular part of their curricula, coupon books are the most economical approach to obtaining science resources. Nature Kit collections are maintained in San Rafael and Sonoma County at SCOE.
