Brief Description:

Two lotteries held per year, one in early September, the other in December to assign walk dates in September-January and February-June. Applications are available on-line and are faxed to each SFUSD school office in the month before the lottery.

Guided walks are offered on six different themes – A First Look at Plants (k/1); Plant Travelers, Flowers and Web of Life (2-5); Redwoods and Native People, Native Plants (3-5). Students work in small groups with a trained guide, average guide to student ration is 1:7. Walks are offered Tuesday-Friday at 10:15 throughout the school year.
