Brief Description: Learn how to make science more engaging! Teach students the science of energy and cultivate a classroom of eco-conscious energy users! Empower students to connect with their academic learning in a way that benefits your entire community! PEAK is a comprehensive, standards-based science program designed to empower elementary and middle school students with the knowledge to manage energy use in their homes, schools and communities. Through hands-on learning, students explore the entire energy equation from the science of how energy is created to the environmental ramifications of electrical generation down to the immediate costs to the family. During a day-long training and orientation session, teachers are introduced to the program and trained on the PEAK curriculum. Each participant attending a PEAK training session receives all of the supplies needed to teach PEAK’s hands-on science labs. In addition to this amazing professional development opportunity, PEAK provides teachers and students with continuing support through classroom demonstrations and educational assemblies. |
