Brief Description:

We are looking for young leaders who are passionate about the natural world and want to inspire others to work toward positive environmental change.

This is a unique opportunity for high school students to explore and learn about the natural areas & environmental issues of the Bay and then teach what they’ve learned to elementary school students, families, and the general public.

Eco-Interns will participate in monthly meet-ups with other high school students in the East Bay to explore natural areas, learn about environmental issues, and develop teaching skills.

Eco-Interns will assist in leading weekend family field trips for our Eco-Education programs and volunteer restoration days.

Monthly meet-ups with other high school students

Via BART, bike, bus, and foot, we’ll visit regional parks, wildlife rehab centers, environmental restoration sites, environmental justice projects, community gardens, community bike shops, environmental programs of local colleges, and more!

Meet and talk with community and environmental leaders

Develop teaching & outreach skills to share what we’ve learned with our communities

Monthly Saturday Work Days

Help lead public volunteers in restoration work at Martin Luther King Shoreline

Spring Weekend Family Field Trips

Explore tide pools and teach about marine ecosystems to families from Audubon’s Eco-Education programs at Muir Beach
