We reference the California State Standards, and the new California Education and the Environment Initiative lesson plans. We will meet standards in science, math, social science and literacy. |

Brief Description: The Gateway Mountain Center offers environmental education and field science programs, based at Donner Summit (near Lake Tahoe) which include exploring and studying diverse eco-systems, human history, restoration, wetlands, and geology. We also facilitate mountain adventures such as rock climbing, snowshoeing, skiing/snowboarding, and flat water kayaking. The students stay at the Sierra Club's Clair Tappaan Lodge (http://www.sierraclub.org/outings/lodges/ctl/) at Donner Summit and explore from there. |
