Brief Description: Each year a select group of 3rd-5th grade teachers will embark on a two year program to become leading educators of science and sustainability. The program will include in-depth workshops at the California Academy of Science – the greenest museum in the world- as well as exciting visits to organic farms, green buildings, scientific institutions and more. Program topics include climate change, energy use, and food and water choices Participants will receive a $2000 annual stipend, a free membership to the Academy, and can earn three graduate level credits per year from San Francisco State University. Teachers are supported with classroom ready activities and mentoring and will have access to Academy educational resources for the duration of the program |
